Grobler grew up in Potsdam. She attended the local music high school and was encouraged early on in voice training, on the concert guitar and on the piano. From 2006 she studied jazz singing in Weimar at the “Franz Liszt” College of Music with Jeff Cascaro and Michael Schiefel. During her studies she was a member of the German Federal Jazz Orchestra and a scholarship holder at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston/USA. She also sang in the European Masterclass under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer. Sophie Grobler has received several awards for her music and has been appointed to professional juries. She was a member of Bobby McFerrin’s vocal ensemble Slixs & Friends with which she also toured Europe. As a soloist Grobler has performed in China, South Korea, Spain, Poland, Italy, Switzerland and Belarus. In 2016 she released her debut album “Ideal” with her band. In 2018 she collaborated with the singer-songwriter Clueso and can be heard on the album “Handgepäck” among others. Grobler currently resides in Berlin and is producing her second album.
