Borys Slowikowski is a drummer, educator and psychologist from Poland. His artistic background is mainly folk music, mainly from Greece, Morocco and Poland. Based on this, he explores different genres, works with the interrelations of sound and movement, and explores music as a basic social behavior. He has been running his Berlin-based Frame Drum School since 2017. Borys is a member of Kayan Project, Farmagia Ensemble and Poznan Improvisers Orchestra. He also makes live music and sound installations for theater and dance performances. Contemporary dance and various somatic practices enrich his artistic and pedagogical approach – since 2016 he has studied with teachers such as Andrew Morrish, Sigal Zouk and Alice Chauchat. His percussion teachers include Zohar Fresco and Yshai Afterman. At Klangteppich V, Borys plays in the project Ilyad.
