Isabel Merten is a musician and certified music, art and theater pedagogue. She studied art and music to be a teacher, then she did a 3-year training as a theater pedagogue. For many years she has been active with various musical instruments and in the field of performative art. She has participated in band projects ranging from punk to metal, riot grrrl, art rock, jazz and contemporary music. She moves far from straightforwardness and conventionality and follows her own experimental and intuitive path. Currently she primarily plays bass, xylosynth and she sings in her current bands “Mellowdeath”, “Schnurr” and “No Chronicles”. At Klangteppich V she participates in “Metal Theatre: Aftermath”.
