Threads are a recurring theme in different editions of Klangteppich. In Loom, the sound artist Iman Jesmi and the weaver Kira de Picciotto use her loom to create a performance about the connections between the sense of touch and textiles. With the production of the textile, the temporality of sounds acquires a materiality that becomes visible as it progresses. The otherwise hidden process of weaving appears on stage, with delicate hand movements and necessary mechanisms with their own spectrum of sounds. What does the touch of a visible surface and the pattern on its reverse mean as an image of the implemented work? The performance sensitizes to the sensations of acoustic and tactile experiences.
